Brief cracker

Cracking brief, or not, I can nail it.

I get the same buzz from working as a conceptual copywriter within a small boutique design consultancy as I do at one of the big worldwide networks. It’s all about collaborating with the brightest people and getting the best out of a brief. I’ve also a soft spot for strategic planners who can make the advertising and design creative’s job so much easier by devising briefs that really inspire.

As a copywriter with over 25 years of tackling the toughest challenges under my belt, advertising agencies call me in knowing I can grasp a brief immediately and set to work creating several campaigns that inspire the client and answer every aspect of the brief. It’s achieving this marriage of creativity and effectiveness, quickly and cost-effectively that I believe comes with experience.

A full national multimedia campaign. A single highly targeted local press ad. A carefully crafted hardworking television commercial script. A punchy outdoor 48-sheet poster. A campaign that works through the line and online too. Whatever it is, I apply identical depth of thought to produce refreshingly creative solutions.

Design consultancies, from small intimate hot shops to global design groups, rely on me to bring fresh, alternative thinking to their projects. Whether it’s a brand name generation and positioning project for a new range of products, to concise and persuasive packaging copy or highly involved copywriting for literature, I’m their go-to bloke.
